Which non-Indian player will be the most sought-after player in the IPL 2024 market next week? Which one of them hits the big six? Who would all-rounder teams want to invest in? Since the start of the T20 season, ESPNcricinfo has been in touch with several IPL managers and coaches to compile a list of who could get a payday in Dubai on December 19. Here’s a look.

Kulkarni, a formidable batsman and seamer, is among India’s Under-19 squad who are expected to play a major role in the World Cup early next year in South Africa. He gave a glimpse of his T20 potential in a short spell – where he made a century – in the Maharashtra Premier League for Eagle Nashik Titans.

Kulkarni made his debut for Maharashtra in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). He was accepted by Ruturaj Gaikwad for a trial with Chennai Super Kings, but missed out as he clashed with the India Under-19s camp. Kulkarni is also believed to be being followed by the Punjab Kings.

Therefore, indoor spinners – especially those who sew dishes – are rare.

Unblocked finals in domestic cricket are also not available anymore. This is where Vidarbha’s Dubey has proven to be different, with several talent scouts impressed by his performance on the SMAT.

Playing in the lower middle order, Dubey, a left-handed batsman, scored 221 runs in seven innings at a rate of 187.28. The highlight of the match was his part in Vidarbha’s chase of 213 against Bengal, their highest score, with 13 balls to spare. Coming in as a Supporter at number 5, Dubey finished with an unbeaten 58 from just 20 balls, hitting three fours and a six.

There is a video online of eight-year-old Musheer dismissing Yuvraj Singh – many years ago, of course. It’s also possible that Yuvraj is just letting the eye-candy enjoy it for a while, but Musheer is sure that he will be a big hit.

Musheer is only one of two talented players in India’s Under-19 World Cup squad for the World Cup in South Africa in January.

Last year, he led Mumbai to the final of the Cooch Behar Trophy, where he was named the Player of the Tournament for his 632 runs and 32 wickets. This performance helped him win the Ranji Trophy. So far he has participated in three first class matches.

The presence of the Impact Player rule may have reduced the role of spinners in the IPL, but Musheer has proved that he can hold his own with the bat as well as the ball.

Kumar Kushagra has become Jharkhand’s first wicketkeeper PTI

The 20-year-old Rizvi hit the highest six for Kanpur Superstars in the UP T20 League. He also made a terrific double hundred and finished with 455 runs in nine innings in the tournament. It led him to trial at three clubs, including Punjab Kings, of which state coach Sunil Joshi is a part.

However, a commitment with the UP Under-23 team meant that Rizvi would not miss the test. But he only showed his potential on his first tour with the Under-23s, smashing 91 off 65 runs in a one-day international against Rajasthan. It was the start of a dream come true for UP to win the tournament, Rizvi hitting a match-winning 84 off the last 50 balls. He finished the race as the fastest runner.

All it takes is one game. This is not a tagline, but a descriptive statement that reflects the rise of Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter Kushagra. The numbers don’t necessarily mean they have the kind of solid managers and coaches they’d want, but if you dig deep, there’s a serious potential for scouts.

One such knock in the Vijay Hazare Trophy can be a turning point. Chasing 355 against Maharashtra, Kushagra came in at number six in Jharkhand and hit an unbeaten 67 off 37 balls, with four fours and five sixes, to seal an unlikely victory.

Several scouts in attendance that day were impressed with the intensity of his big hitting, an area he has worked on slowly since moving into the center role. Kushagra, in due course, became Jharkhand’s first wicketkeeper as Ishan Kishan was rarely on national duty; and while he is keen to be consistent, he has shown glimpses of his potential, as he did against Maharashtra. With both Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders looking for a capable Indian wicketkeeper, Kushagra will be keeping his fingers crossed.
