Share Target Change For Govt Share; ₹30 Dividend; Power Ministry Set A Target %

Coal India Ltd (NSE: COALINDIA): Coal India Limited has seen its shares soar by 24 percent in 2024, and 120 percent over the past year. The demand for coal is high. 

This is also when the market is in demand for renewable energies. Investors are interested in whether the demand for coal will continue to grow in the future. 

Will Coal India keep paying dividends? Stock market analysts are generally positive about Coal India. Coal India’s target has been set at Rs 512 to 535.

Coal India provides 89 percent of total production for the power sector, and thermal power is responsible for more than 80 percent of the electricity produced in India. 

India still has a lot of work to do to achieve its renewable energy target for FY 2030. 

The power ministry set the target power generation for FY 2024 to 1,750bu, an increase of 7.2 percent on a year-on-year basis. 

Thermal energy will account for more than 75 percent of the total.

A renowned brokerage house set a target price of Rs 512 for Coal India. The brokerage raised its EBITDA estimate for FY 2024-2026 from 9-15 percent citing better outlooks, higher e-auction premiums, and lower costs.

Another brokerage house believes the demand for coal could remain high. They stated that, if they set a target price of Rs 500 for the stock, they would expect a dividend per share of Rs 30 in FY2024 and FY25.

Price Can Go Up To Rs 512

A popular expert set a target price of Rs 489, for the shares. Coal India remains a positive for brokers. 

Another brokerage house revised its target for the stock from Rs 490 to Rs 510. The stock gained 2.28 percent on Thursday to Rs 477 at the NSE.
